The 2024 Sovereign Portuguese Art Prize

Nomination and selection for The Sovereign Portuguese Art Prize ; an annual art award for artists working in Portugal or of the Portuguese diaspora. The Prize celebrates the practice of some of the most significant contemporary artists working today, whilst raising funds for arts education programmes in Portugal.

The initial selection of artists is made through nominations by industry professionals. From this pool, 33 finalists are chosen by a distinguished jury comprised of leading figures in the art world. The jury includes Vicente Todolí, Artistic Director at Hangar Bicocca; Philippe Vergne, Director of the Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art in Porto; Maura Marvão, Head of Phillips in Portugal and Spain; Tim Marlow, Chief Executive and Director of the Design Museum; and David Elliott, an esteemed writer, curator, and museum director.
